Fire Stations in Oregon Any location where fire fighters are stationed or based out of, or where equipment that such personnel use in carrying out their jobs is stored for ready use. Fire Departments not having a permanent location are included, in which case their location has been depicted at the city/town hall or at the center of their service area if a city/town hall does not exist. This dataset includes those locations primarily engaged in forest or grasslands fire fighting, including fire lookout towers if the towers are in current use for fire protection purposes. This dataset includes both private and governmental entities. Fire fighting training academies are also included. This dataset is comprised completely of license free data. The Fire Station dataset and the EMS dataset were merged into one working file. TGS processed as one file and then separated for delivery purposes. Records with "-DOD" appended to the end of the [NAME] value are located on a military base, as defined by the Defense Installation Spatial Data Infrastructure (DISDI) military installations and military range boundaries. Text fields in this dataset have been set to all upper case to facilitate consistent database engine search results. All diacritics (e.g., the German umlaut or the Spanish tilde) have been replaced with their closest equivalent English character to facilitate use with database systems that may not support diacritics. The currentness of this dataset is indicated by the [CONTDATE] field. Based upon this field, the oldest record dates from 07/11/2006 and the newest record dates from 06/02/2008.

US Postal Service Zone Improvement Plan (ZIP) Codes are used throughout the United States to improve mail delivery. There are 479 unique 5-digit ZIP Codes in Oregon all starting with 97. All ZIP Codes are assigned and managed exclusively by the US Postal Service. There are three main categories of ZIP Codes - 1) Standard, 2) PO Box Only, 3) Unique for large commercial and government customers.

Each ZIP Code is assigned a preferred city name by the US Postal Service. NOTE - these city names may not correspond with the city limits or other jurisdiction boundaries of incorporated cities. There are other acceptable city names listed that may be used for mailing addresses for some ZIP Codes. There are also other city names to avoid using for mailing addresses. The Oregon Geologic Data Compilation (OGDC) is a digital data collection of geologic studies created by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI). The purpose of the compilation is to integrate and make available the best available published geologic mapping for the state by combining maps and data into a single consistent and maintainable digital database. OGDC was first released by DOGAMI in 2004, with successive releases building either geographically or qualitatively on previous releases. OGDC-6 was published in 2015 and serves as the Oregon Geologic Data Standard for the state as a data element component of the Geosciences Theme within the Oregon Framework Themes. The release of OGDC-7 builds directly from data published in OGDC-6 by migrating the database structure to the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (NCGMP) Geologic Map Schema (GeMS). DOGAMI has implemented the GeMS schema as the database standard for all geologic mapping projects published from 2019 onward to meet NCGMP requirements and to support the state’s contribution to standardized nationwide geologic content. The transition to OGDC-7 required migrating the existing OGDC statewide compilation to the GeMS format for streamlining future updates, data creation, and data maintenance. Additionally, the transition to GeMS adds fundamental geologic map point data (e.g., structural data, geochronology, and geochemistry) as comprehensive geospatial datasets not included as part of previous versions of OGDC.

The data was collected from local jurisdictions in the state and then assembled into a single dataset. The attributes were generalized to a set of comp plan codes that could be applied to data from all jurisdictions. The list of state comp plan codes and their descriptions can be found in this metadata. Please contact the local jurisdictions for the more detailed (not generalized) data.

As of May 31, 2019 this feature class contains comprehensive plan data from 189 local jurisdictions. DLCD plans to continue adding to and updating this statewide comp plan dataset as they receive information from the local jurisdictions. New releases of this data by DLCD are planned for publication every 2 years. Note: This data layer has gaps in the data and is not complete for the entire state of Oregon.
